Toronto will soon have a new map that will feature 34 new neighbourhoods. The map will redefine certain neighbourhoods that have traditionally been clumped up into general regions. The plan was unveiled by the municipal government.
The city’s official website reads, “in recent years, population growth has made each neighbourhood’s population unbalanced in relation to others.” It then goes on to add that in order to balance the growth of the population, “the Social Research & Information Management unit (SRIM), together with partners in other city divisions and public agencies, developed neighbourhood splits.”
While it is unclear when the new boundaries will be recognized on the map, the city did release a map that shows how it will look.
Do you think the new map will help people navigate their way around the city?
