A video by a group of Canadian doctors listing reasons not to fear the COVID-19 virus was removed from YouTube just minutes after being posted.
The doctors spoke about the fear that people have when they hear “cases, cases, cases” on the news but reassure viewers that “cases” only means people who received a positive PCR test.
“Research now shows that the PCR test is practically worthless,” said one doctor. “Only 3% of patients with a positive test actually have the COVID virus.”
The video was posted by Liberty Coalition Canada, whose campaign manager, Michael Theissen said “YouTube censored us really quickly, almost immediately.”
The Liberty Coalition Canada stated, “the current government measures regarding COVID are not supported by evidence-based medical research and many of these measures are harmful to individuals, families and society in general.”
The video remains available on the groups official website and can be viewed there.
According to Independent MP Derek Sloan, who spoke to iPolitics, the move to censor the video is “indicative of the escalating censorship for anyone questioning the government’s approach to COVID-19.”
“What we’re seeing is: whatever the prevailing consensus is — if you run counter to that, then you’re silenced,” he said.
Earlier this year, the MPP for York Centre, Roman Baber, was booted out of caucus after writing an open letter to the Ford government, where he said that lockdowns were more harmful than COVID-19.
Baber’s letter outlines the increase in unemployment due to the closure of businesses across Ontario, bankruptcies, mental health issues, and more.
Last month, Facebook made the move to introduce a new policy that would censor misinformation about COVID-19 and vaccines, which some called an attack on freedom of speech.
