Approximately 4000 pregnant women will participate in a vaccine trial involving the administration of Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccines.

The women will receive a jab of one of the vaccines to help researchers understand how the vaccine impacts the underresearched group. Millions across the world have already received shots of the experimental vaccines which are still undergoing trials and peer-reviews.

It is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that pregnant women speak to a health care provider about the vaccine and its relative risks before taking it.
