On February 13, anti-lockdown collective The Line Canada will run five “underground,” in-person music events at several Toronto venues, despite stay-at-home orders. According to their website, the group received access from local venue owners and performance organizers to live-stream the event on their YouTube channel.
“Free party is not a crime,” the event’s promotional poster reads.
According to the event page, “All attendees at these performances are paid or volunteer actors/dancers hired by the establishments for the purpose of recording and marketing the performances.”
A spokesperson from The Line told BlogTO that the venue owners are the ones organizing the musical performances.
“The Line Canada is simply assisting with marketing initiatives for their scheduled performances as well as involved in obtaining the live coverage of the performance,” the spokesperson said.
Admission to the underground event is invite-only.
