Nodeep Kaur, a trade union activist who fought for workers’ rights amid the new agri-marketing laws in New Delhi, India, has been subject to violent custodial torture upon her arrest, her family alleges. She was arrested on January 12 and has been denied bail twice. Her family alleges that police “beat her up” in jail, according to an article published in the Wire.
