A California geologist found the face of the famous Cookie Monster inside of a rare volcanic rock while on a research trip in Brazil.
Mike Bowers first found the egg-shaped rock back in November of 2020. On the outside, the rock is light brown in color and looks like any other ordinary rock.
When Bowers opened up the rock, he saw that the inside had blue quartz crystals that somehow perfectly outlined the face of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster on both sides. The outline portrayed white, round eyes and a perfectly large smile.

Considering the rarity of the rock, Bowers has already been receiving sky-high offers. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Bowers said he had received multiple offers, some as high as $10,000 US.
Bowers told the Daily Mail that he believes the rock “the most perfect cookie monster out there.”
